Kimberly “Kim” Burrell is the name of the American gospel and jazz singer, born in Huston, Texas, in 1989. Her first independent release, “Try Me Again,” came out in 1995 on the Texas-based Pearl Records boutique label. This led her to sign with Tommy Boy Gospel and release another album, recorded by Asaph Alexander Ward in 1999, titled “Eternal Life” At the annual COGIC Convention in Memphis, Tennessee, Burrell recorded “Live In Concert” a live album which was released in 2001, and nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Gospel of the Soul Album. She starred on George Clinton's 2008 cover album, “George Clinton and Some Gangsters of Love,” and she collaborated on Clinton’s song “Mathematics of Love” For the 2016 Hidden Figures movie soundtrack, Burrell sang “I See A Victory” alongside superstar artist Pharrell Williams.
