Emily Mortimer is an actress born on 6th October 1971 in Hammersmith, London, England. She started her career by featuring in stage productions and went on to appear in numerous films and television shows. She performed in different plays while still in college. After impressing, she was cast into a television adaption of Catherine Cookson’s “The Glass Virgin” in 1995. She later featured in television shows “Sharpe’s Sword” in 1995 and “Coming Home” in 1998.
Her big-screen appearance came in the Disney fantasy film “The Kid” in 2000. She later starred in “The 51st State,” alongside popular actors like Robert Carlyle and Samuel L. Jackson. In the following years, she appeared in “Bright Young Things” in 2003, “Match Point” in 2005 and “Lars and the Real Girl” in 2007. Continuing her outstanding performance, she appeared in “City Island” in 2009. The following year, she appeared in the psychological horror film “Shutter Island”.
