Adan Canto is a Mexican-American actor and director who was born on December 5th 1981. He is a native of Northeastern Mexico, Ciudad Acuña, where he was born and raised.
Initially destined to be a musician, Adan later segued into writing and producing songs for films and TV while he was in Mexico. He then started acting in a number of commercials in Mexico City and was soon cast in the TV series Estado de Gracia. He started rising to fame after he starred in Pedro Almodovar’s All About My Mother. His America TV debut took place in 2013 when he starred as Paul Torres in the Fox drama series The Following. In 2015 he played a politician Rodrigo Lara Bonia in the Netflix original Narco, and the next year he appeared in the ABC political drama Designated Survivor.
Adan later wrote and directed his first short film Before Tomorrow in 2015. The Shot, his own short film, won several festival awards for Best Narrative Short Film in 2020.
