Benjamin Bratt is a Peruvian American actor and producer. He was born on the 16th of December, 1963, in San Francisco, California, U.S. He studied at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. In 1987, he starred in the television movie “Juarez” in 1987, an historical drama which got critical acclaim. Then, he landed several roles on television series like “Knightwatch” and “Nasty Boys”. “Nast Boys” would be turned into the television movie of the same name in 1989, in which he starred. He got his major breakthrough when he portrayed a gang leader in “Bound by Honor” and a police officer in “Demolition Man”, which positioned him as a popular actor in Hollywood. He played then supporting roles in many box office hits such as “The River Wild”, “Clear and Present Danger” starring Harrison Ford, and “Miss Congeniality” opposite Sandra Bullock. Bratt joined the main cast in the successful television series “Law & Order” which earned him recognition. He played on the show for over 14 years and in 1999 he was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
