Adnan Sami Khan, popularly known as Adnan Sami, is a British-born Pakistani singer, musician, pianist, actor and composer of Pakistan origin. He was born on August 15, 1973 in London, England, UK. He is most renowned for his roles in My Name Is Khan (2010), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) and Ajnabee (2001).
After meeting legendary Indian singer Asha Bhosle at an R D Burman concert in London, Sami was encouraged to pursue a music career. He began taking music lessons from Pandit Shivkumar Sharma when visiting India during his school vacations. At 16, Sami was approached to write a song for famine-hit Ethiopia. The song won a special award from UNICEF.
In 2000, Sami teamed up with Asha Bhosle to release a collection of love songs in an album "Kabhi to Nazar Milao". In 2002, he became an ambassador for Pepsi Foods in India. The contract involved hosting a series of live music concerts across cities as well as Sami featuring in ads for Pepsi products. In 2010, Sami picked up the LifeTime Achievement Award from Pakistan Television.
