Kevin Systrom is an entrepreneur born on 30th December 1983 in Holliston, Massachusetts, United States. He is best known for being a co-founder of Instagram, along with Mike Krieger. Kevin completed his education in 2006 and got a job with tech giant Google as an associate product marketing manager. A few former co-workers at Google, including Adrian Graham, Carl Sjogreen, and Charles Lin formed a new company called Nextstop. They were joined by Kevin who also left Google.
He later left Nextstop to develop an idea he had. He was able to secure funding from investment companies Baseline Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz. Together with Mike Kriegerin, they started Burbn. After making a few adjustments to their products and they finally launched a new application called Instagram. The app derives its name from the two words “instant” and “telegram”. Instagram was later sold to Facebook for $1 billion. He is currently the CEO of Instagram.
