Jerry Cantrell, also known as Jerry Fulton Cantrell Jr., was born in the United States on March 18, 1966. He is an American musician, singer-songwriter, and guitarist most known for being the band, Alice in Chains' founder. Known for its unique singing style and the harmonies between Cantrell and Layne Staley, the band achieved worldwide acclaim in the early 1990s. Jerry also has a solo career; his albums Boggy Depot and Degradation Trip Volumes 1 and 2 were both published in 1998 and 2002. Cantrell has also played and cooperated with a number of bands, including Deftones, Heart, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Pantera, Circus of Power, Metal Church, Gov't Mule, Damageplan, Pearl Jam, The Cult, Danzig, and Glenn Hughes. Jerry has also made cameo appearances in movies including Jerry Maguire, Rock Slyde, and Deadwood: The Movie. He also contributed to the soundtracks of The Cable Guy, John Wick: Chapter 2, and Dark Nights: Metal. Cantrell has also appeared in the Alice in Chains parodies AIC 23 and The Nona Tapes.
