Fantastic Negrito Bio
Fantastic Negrito is an American singer and songwriter, born Xavier Dphrepaulezz on January 20, 1968, in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. He is best known for his music, which spans blues, R&B, and roots music. He released a debut album titled X Factor in 1995 under the name Xavier.
The first album released under the name Fantastic Negrito was The Last Days of Oakland in 2016. In 2018, his second album, Please Don't Be Dead, came out, followed by Have You Lost Your Mind Yet? In 2020. Both albums won the Grammy for Best Contemporary Blues Album.
Throughout his career, the Massachusetts native collaborated with Sting and E-40 and toured with everyone from Sturgill Simpson to Chris Cornell. In 2022, Fantastic Negrito released the album, White Jesus Black Problems, which further pushed him into the funky unknown.
