Amala Akkineni is an actress born on 12th September 1967 in West Bengal, India. She is best known for appearing in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi films. She started her acting career in 1986, playing the role of Mythili in the film “Mythili Ennai Kaathali”, for which she was nominated for the Filmfare Award in the category of Best Actress – Tamil. That same year, she appeared “Mella Thirandhathu Kadhavu”, “Unnai Ondru Ketpen”, “Kanne Kaniyamuthe”, and “Panneer Nathigal”.
The following year, she appeared in the films “Kootu Puzhukkal”, “Pesum Padam”, “Idhu Oru Thodar Kathal”, “Velaikaran”, and “Vedham Pudhithu”. She made her television debut in 1991 with the series “Penn”. In 2010, she appeared in the television series “Super Mother”. From 2014 to 2015, she starred in the soap opera “Uyirmei” as Dr. Kavitha Sandeep. In 2019, she was cast in the thriller web series “High Priestess” as Swathi Reddy.
