Freddie Highmore, born Alfred Thomas Highmore is an English actor and former child actor. Hailing from a performing family, his first films were the highly successful Finding Neverland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Spiderwick Chronicles, movies in which he established himself alongside actors such as Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet and Martin Short.
Transitioning into television roles with the critically and commercially successful Bates Motel, in which Highmore portrayed Norman Bates, a character made famous by Alfred Hitchcock in his hit film Psycho. Highmore then went on to portray Dr Shaun Murphy in The Good Doctor, a television show. With 38 nominations and 11 wins so far in his career, including nominations for Golden Globes, SAG Awards and Empire Awards.
