Formed in Flatbush, Brooklyn, the trio Flatbush Zombies is comprised of brothers Zombie Juice, Meechy Darko, and Erick “Arc” Elliot. They formed their group in 2010, with Zombie and Meechy acting as the MCs and Elliot as the rapper and producer. To keep up their personas, the young men do not release their real names. After performing for clubs in and around Brooklyn, the group released their single “Thug Waffle” in 2012 on YouTube, which has had over 4 million views. They followed this very successful release with their debut mixtape D.R.U.G.S., an acronym for “Death and Reincarnation Under God’s Supervision”. The mixtape was lauded for having incorporated elements of 1990s rap styles.
After having collaborated with artists such as A$AP Rocky, Juicy J, and Action Bronson, the group was able to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2013, and followed their appearance with their second mixtape BetterOffDEAD that September. The following year, Flatbush Zombies released their EP It’s All A Matter of Perspective.
