Girli, born Milly Toomey, is a singer, rapper and songwriter born on 6th December 1997 in London, England. She wanted to be an actor, but after two failed attempts, she abandoned the mission. At the age of 14, she really wanted to be a musician after drawing inspiration from a Canadian indie-pop duo Tegan and Sara. She began her career by doing open mics and later started the indie rock band “Ask Marting” together with some older girls she had met online.
She started performing solo in 2014 after her band members joined college. Her music is a mixture of pop, electronic, and punk, and her stage name is inspired by Blondie. In 2015, she released her first single, titled “So You Think You Can Fuck With Me Do Ya?”. She signed with PMR Records in the same year. In 2017, he released a new EP titled “Feel OK,” which was supported by Declan McKenna in the UK. In 2018, she performed at the Gibraltar Music Festival. The following year, she released a new single titled “Deal With It.”
In 2021, she released the EP Ex Talk, on the independent record label AllPoints. She has performed with DJ Kitty and has toured with musician Oscar.
