Marc Martel is a Canadian Christian rock musician born in Montreal, Canada on November 16, 1976. While in college, he formed the band Downhere with his roommate and a few friends in Saskatchewan, Canada in 1999. After college the band moved to Nashville, Tennessee and were signed to the label Word Records. They released 10 albums and won multiple Covenant Awards, Juno Awards, and a Dove Award. The band went on hiatus in 2013. From 2012 to 2015 Martel went on tour with the Queen tribute project The Queen Extravaganza. He left Queen Extravaganza in 2017 and joined the Ultimate Queen Celebration. In 2013 Martel released his debut solo EP titled The Prelude EP and has since released the EPs and albums The Silent Night EP, Impersonator, Live at the High Watt, A Night at the Apollo, The First Noel EP, My Way Vol. 1 EP, Thunderbolt & Lightning, and Christmas is Here EP.
