Alex Turner of The Arctic Monkeys and Miles Kane of the Rascals collaborated together to write songs. It started when the Little Flames, Kane’s previous band, toured with the Arctic Monkeys back in 2007. By that summer, they were joined by James Ford, the London Metropolitan Orchestra and Owen Pallet, completing the recording by December of that same year – forming The Last Shadow Puppets.
In 2008, the duo performed shows in New York, announcing their debut single and album “The Age of the Understatement.” The album was able to get a Mercury Prize nomination. Since Turner still played for the Arctic Monkeys, the two only had occasional live shows together. But by 2014, when the Arctic Monkeys went on hiatus, The Last Shadow Puppets reunited to work. In 2016, they released a six-song EP “The Dream Synopsis.”
