Lee Pace Bio

Lee Pace is an American movie, television and theater actor. He was born as Lee Grinner Pace on the 25th of March, 1979 in Oklahoma, U.S. He started his acting career very young, when he was still attending high school, at the Houston’s Ally Theater, in the productions of “The Spider’s Web” and “The Greeks”. He then continued to study at the Julliard School, where he acted in several plays, including “Romeo and Juliet” and “Julius Caesar”. He did his Broadway debut in “The Normal Hearth”, a play by Larry Kramer, in 2011. In 2003, he got his first leading role in a movie, called “Soldier’s Girl”. For his work in that movie, Pace won a Gotham Independent Film Award for Breakthrough Actor. In 2008, Pace starred in the acclaimed by the critic movie “The Fall” directed by Tarsem Singh. In 2011, Pace was cast as Thranduil, an Elf King, in Peter Jackson's film adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Hobbit”.
