Nina Nakayama, popularly known by her pen name Violet Duke, is a contemporary romance writer famous for her happily ever after novels. Prior to becoming famous for her books, Duke was a former professor of English. She found her way into a writing career from her love for reading. Violet asserts that she has had a lifelong obsession with books and would spend hours in the public library as a kid.
Since her 2013 debut book “Resisting the Bad Boy” was published, Nina has gone on to sell over a million books and made her way into USA Today, New York Times, and many other international and national bestseller lists. The “Cactus Creek” series is one of her most popular series. Her books have also made the Top 10 charts on Amazon, iBooks, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo.
Violet’s stories focus on sexy matchups of sweet but everyday characters. Most of the inspiration for her novels comes from authors including Elizabeth Lowell, Jude Deveraux, and Judith McNaught. When she is not reading her books, Violet can be found playing with power tools, cooking impossible to replicate recipes, and playing with her husband and kids.
