Kyla Pratt is an American actress born on September 16, 1986 in Los Angeles, California. At the age of eight, she began to appear in different commercials, most notable of which were for Nike. In 1993, she made her small screen debut when she appeared on the television series Where I Live as Brittany. Two years after that, she made her first appearance in a film with The Baby-Sitters’ Club. Her first starring role, however, was on Barney’s Great Adventure (1998). In the film, she played the character Marcella, one of the child protagonists. In the same year, she played as Eddie Murphy’s daughter Maya Dolittle in the hit movie Dr. Dolittle. She went on to star in the movie’s succeeding sequels, playing as their main protagonist. Her next big role came in the form of The Proud Family (2001-2005), where she played the show’s main character, Penny Proud. Her other projects include One on One (2001-2006), Let’s Stay Together (2010-2012), and Recovery Road (2016).
