Marcos Aoás Corrêa, widely known as Marquinhos, is a professional soccer player born in São Paulo, Brazil, on May 14, 1994. He played in the youth academy of Corinthians from 2002 to 2011. In 2014, The Observer named him one of the ten Most Promising Young European Players.
Upon debuting as a professional, Marquinhos won the 2012 Copa Libertadores with Corinthians. He joined AS Roma in 2012, appearing in 26 matches. The team was runner-up at the 2012/13 Coppa Italia. He joined Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in 2013 and has scored 23 goals in all appearances.
The defensive midfielder won seven Ligue 1, six Coupe de France, six Coupe de la Ligue, and seven Trophée des Champions with PSG. The team was runner-up at the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League. Marquinhos played for the U17, U21, and U23 Brazil teams. The Olympic gold medalist won the Copa América with Brazil in 2019. He has appeared on the UNFP Ligue 1 Team of the Year and UEFA Champions League Squad of the Season.
