David O’Doherty Bio
David O'Doherty is a comedian born on 18th December 1975 in Dublin, Ireland. He is the son of the famous jazz pianist Jim Doherty. He made his debut in 1998 at Dublin’s Comedy Cellar. His first show, “The Story of the Boy Who Saved Comedy”, which earned him nomination for Perrier Best Newcomer. He was also nominated for the if.comedy award for his role in the “David O’Doherty is My Name” show.
He has performed at a wide range of shows worldwide. This includes New York City, Wellington NZ, Melbourne, Ireland, Iceland, and Adelaide. David also won the 2018 Intelligent Finance Comedy Award. He has also performed at the Edinburgh Fringe every year. In 2000, he was nominated for the Perrier Best Newcomer Award for his work in “Edinburgh Fringe”. In 2014, he won the Best International Comedian Sydney Comedy Festival Awards for his work in “David O'Doherty Will Try to Fix Everything”.
