Jan Oblak is a professional soccer player born in Škofja Loka, Slovenia, on January 7, 1993. He spent his youth career at Ločan (1998–2003), Olimpija (2003–2005), and Olimpija Ljubljana (2005–2009). After his senior career at Olimpija Ljubljana, he joined Benfica in 2010.
Jan won Primeira Liga, Taca de Portugal, and Taca da Liga titles with Benfica in the 2013/14 season. Atletico Madrid bought him for £12.6 million from Benfica in 2014. The transfer made him the most expensive goalkeeper in La Liga history. At Atletico Madrid, he won La Liga, Supercopa de España, UEFA Europa League, and UEFA Super Cup. The team was runner-up at the 2015/16 UEFA Champions League.
Jan has won the La Liga Zamora Trophy five consecutive times. His accolades include Primeira Liga Best Goalkeeper, La Liga Best Goalkeeper, La Liga Player of the Season, Slovenian Youth Footballer of the Year, and Slovenian Footballer of the Year. He is associated with Play With Us Foundation.
