Lauren Spencer-Smith is a Canadian singer and songwriter who was born on September 8, 2005., in Portsmouth. She created her YouTube channel in 2015, where she started to upload covers. She went viral on that platform for the first time that same year when she was invited by Keith Urban to join him on stage after she won a contest. The video got millions of views and earned the 12-year-old girl many followers and subscribers on the platform. She continued to upload cover videos on the platform, but she only got a strong fanbase when she went viral again in 2019 after she sang Lady Gaga’s “Always Remember us This way” in her father’s truck. Her subscribers on YouTube increased by thousands after the video. She posted her first studio song later that year, which was a cover of Lewis Capaldi song “Someone you Loved” which got millions of views. She participated in season 18 of American Idol in 2020, where she became a top 20 finalist.
