Edie Falco, born Edith Falco on July the 5th 1963 in New York and is an American actress. Falco’s career began in 1987 with the film Sweet Lorraine. And in film has held noteworthy roles such as the drama, Laws of Gravity as Denise, the romantic drama Random Hearts as Janice, the comedy-drama, The Comedian as Miller and the comedy film, I Love You, Daddy, which also starred Rose Byrne and John Malkovich.
Well known in television for television shows such as Homicide: Life on the Street, New York Undercover and Oz, where she portrayed Diane in a recurring role, the actress came to mainstream fame with her appearance from 1999-2007 in the hit television show The Soprano’s as Carmela Soprano. From 2009-2015, the actress portrayed the titular character in the show, Nurse Jackie.
