Patrick Kielty Bio

Patrick Kielty is a comedian and a television personality from Ireland. He was born in Downpatrick, County Down, Northern Ireland on the 31st of January, 1971. Kielty started performing as a comedian at a very young age when he was still a pupil at St. Patrick’s Grammar School. His professional career started a few years later, when he started on the show “The Empire Laughs Back”. In 1993, Kielty appeared in the show “SUS” on UTV. In 1996, he won the Best Newcomer Award at the Royal Television Society Awards. In 1997, along with director Stephan Stewart, he set up the Belfast-based television production company Green Inc. Between 2001 and 2003, he hosted 14 episodes of the comedy show “Stupid Punts”. In 2016, Kielty worked on the BBC Northern Ireland as a program presenter, and he got to present the show “Bad Language” alongside Susan Calman and Paul Sinha. In 2018, Kielty filmed the documentary “My Dad, the Peace Deal and Me” for BBC.
