Indie pop artist Zella Day was born Zella Day Kerr on March 13, 1995 in Pinetop, Arizona. At age 14, Day flew to Nashville every month to learn from popular songwriters at a young songwriters’ camp. Day’s first song, a cover of The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army,” is what got her initial public exposure in 2012. She also released an EP entitled “Cynics vs. Dreamers” that same year. Her debut single “1965/Sweet Ophelia” was released in April 2014, and later that year, she followed up her debut EP with a self-titled second EP. This EP was critically-acclaimed and reached #16 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart. The second single released off of “Zella Day” was “Hypnotic,” which was also featured as an iTunes Single of the Week. In February 2015, a music video for “Hypnotic” was released online and gathered over two million views. Day released her full-length debut album “Kicked” in June 2015 on Hollywood Records
