Charlie Winston is a singer and songwriter born on September 14, 1978, in Cornwall, England. When he was young, he learned instruments like drums and piano. At 16, he went to London to study music and wrote music for some of the school programs. After school, he spent a few years playing for his brother, Tom Baxter, and his band, Baxter. While working with this band, Winston met Peter Gabriel who offered him a recording contract. In 2007, Winston released his debut album, Make Way. After moving to France, Winston released one of his first hit singles, Like A Hobo, in 2009. As part of the album Hobo, the single reached number 1 in the French charts and the album became certified platinum. His singles have been used in several productions, including in a Volkswagon commercial and on an episode of Grey’s Anatomy. Winston was honored with a European Border Breakers Award for Best UK artist in Europe.
