James Hong is an actor, producer, director, and writer born February 22, 1929 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. He studied at the University of Minnesota and the University of Southern California.
He has starred in more than 450 roles including Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai, Everything Everywhere All at Once, Poorly Drawn Lines, Patsy Lee & The Keepers of the 5 Kingdoms, Man of a Thousand Faces, Caged Fury, Teen Lust. and Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans.
James has worked alongside Jeff Bridges, Ryan Reynolds, Kevin Bacon, and Jamie Lee Curtis. James received a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on May 10, 2022. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2007 Las Vegas Film Critics Society Awards. He was president and charter member of the Association of Asian-Pacific American Artists. James is one of the founders of the East-West Players, the first Asian American theater organization.
