Anthony Mackie was born on September 23, 1978 in New Orleans, Louisiana. His first well-known roles were in 8 Mile (2002) and Brother to Brother (2003). After that, he appeared in Million Dollar Baby (2004), Half Nelson (2006), The Hurt Locker (2009), and Notorious (2009).
Before he joined the Marvel team as Falcon, he performed in many plays and on Broadway. Mackie performed at the John F. Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts, New York City Public Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park, and various others throughout New York City. He was in A Behanding in Spokane with Christopher Walken on Broadway in 2011.
Mackie played Harry Mitchell in 2011’s The Adjustment Bureau alongside Matt Damon. He then became part of the Marvel team where he plays Sam Wilson, also known as Falcon, in Captain America: A Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, and Captain America: Civil War. He was in the HBO series All the Way, where he played Martin Luther King Jr..
