Editors is an indie Brumbeat band that’s usually pegged as post-punk. Their current line-up, after a few shuffles, includes Tom Smith (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, piano), Russell Leetch (bass guitar, backing vocals), Ed Lay (drums, percussion, backing vocals), Justin Lockey (lead guitar), and Elliott Williams (keyboard, synthesizers). Frontman Tom Smith and bassist Russell Leetch are the core founders of the band, from their days as music technology students at Stafford University.
Editors signed with the indie label Kitchenware and their 2005 debut single “Bullets” earned them critical comparison to Joy Division and Echo & the Bunnymen. they’ve since sold platinum albums in the UK, been nominated for a Mercury Music Prize, and headlined at the annual Glastonbury Music Festival.
