Sparks Bio
Brothers Ron and Russell Mael founded the American pop and rock group called “Sparks” in Los Angeles. The duo is renowned for their eccentric songwriting style, and their music is frequently accompanied by sophisticated and biting lyrics. Their music is often about women, and occasionally includes literary allusions. Ron Mael plays the keyboard in an intricate and rhythmic manner, and Russell Mael has a distinctive voice with a wide range. Though they still have a devoted cult following in the United States, they enjoy a much greater success in Europe compared to their native country. Some of their work include, "This Town Ain't Big Enough for Both of Us," which reached number 2 on the UK Singles Chart in 1974, "The Number One Song in Heaven," which reached No. 1 in 1979, and "I Predict," which put Sparks on the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time.
