Elfrid Payton Jr. is an American professional basketball player who plays as a point guard in the NBA. He was born in Gretna, Louisiana, United States, on February 22, 1994. Elfrid spent his formative years playing for John Ehret High Scholl and the University of Louisiana, and he turned professional in 2014 when he was selected by Orlando Magic in the first round of the NBA Draft. He has since represented the New Orleans Pelicans, New York Knicks, and Phoenix Suns, and throughout his time with the Suns. Elfrid played alongside Devin Booker, Chris Paul, JaVale McGee, and Deandre Ayton. He won a gold medal with the US under-19 team at the FIBA World U19 Championship in the Czech Republic.
