Joe Hisaishi Bio
Mamoru Fujisawa, better known by his stage name Joe Hisaishi, was a Japanese composer and musical director who was born on December 6, 1950, in Nakano. He is renowned for writing outstanding cinematic music for renowned filmmakers. Hisaishi's career took off in 1974 as a result of the composition he created for the animated film "Gyatoruzu," which received critical acclaim and broad admiration. During this period, Hisaishi also composed music for "Sasuraiger" and "Tekuno porisu 21C." Hisaishi's music for anime projects is also well-known. In addition to "Hello! Sandybell" in 1981, "Maho Shojo Lalabel" in 1980, "Ai Shite Knight" in 1983, "Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel" in 1984, and "Kimagure Orange Road: The Movie" in 1988, he is credited with writing the themes for many more successful films. Additionally, there were Hisaishi's joint projects with Hayao Miyazaki, for whom he wrote the soundtracks of "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind" in 1984, "Kiki's Delivery Service" in 1989, "Spirited Away" in 2001, "Howl's Moving Castle" in 2004, and "Ponyo" in 2008.
