Jon Michael Hill is an American actor born in Waukegan, Illinois on July 28, 1985. He is best known for his role on the CBS television series Elementary as Detective Marcus Bell. While still in college, he appeared in the stage productions Ain’t Misbehavin’, King Lear, and Six Degrees of Separation. After graduating from college, he appeared in a production of Shakespeare’s The Tempest and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. In 2010 he was nominated for a Tony Award for his performance in a 2010 Broadway production of Superior Donuts. He made his television debut in 2010 on the show Detroit 1-8-7 and was on the show till 2011. He has had roles in shows like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Eastbound & Down, Person of Interest, and Elementary. He also made his debut in film in 2010 in the Film Falling Overnight. He has continued landing roles in films like No Pay, Nudity, In the Radiant City, Pass Over, and Widows.
