Laura Prepon was born on March 7, 1980 in Watchung, New Jersey. Her career began in New York in 1996 when she began acting in plays. In 1997, she landed a role in an internet-based soap opera called They Go On. Her big break came in 1998 when she got the role of Donna on That 70’s Show. The show ran for eight seasons.
She has done guest appearances on such shows as: King of the Hill (voice), How I Met Your Mother, In Plain Sight, Medium, House, Celebrity Ghost Stories, Castle, Love Bites, and Men at Work. In 2012, she did a twelve episode season of a television series called, Are You There Chelsea?. She has been a regular cast member of Orange is the New Black since 2013. She has been nominated for two Teen Choice Awards and one Young Artist Award. She has won two Satellite Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and a Creative Coalition Spotlight Initiative Award.
Her film career includes such movies as: Southlander, Slackers, Lightning Bug, Karla, Come Early Morning, Once Upon a Time, The Chosen One, Lay the Favorite, The Kitchen, The Girl on the Train, and The Hero. She has also been trying her hand at producing. She was an executive producer on Lightning Bug and an episode of Orange is the New Black. In 2016, she teamed up with a nutritionist and co-wrote a book called The Stash Plan. The book focuses on her life as someone who has grown up consuming mostly organic foods.
