American actor, Ian Nelson was born in North Carolina. He completed a course in screenwriting at the University of South California but became interested in performing arts when he auditioned for a musical to impress a girl. He went on to perform in local shows like ‘Amahl and the Night Visitors,’ by the Piedmont Opera. He has also appeared at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade thrice. He studied at the Stagedoor Manor performing arts school, the University of North Carolina School of Arts, and the Jenkins’ Actors Group School to perfect his craft. He bagged his first role as a non-speaking role in the hit 2012 show, ‘The Hunger Games.’ In the following year, he appeared in ‘Alone yet Not Alone.’ He became popular on television with the role of Derek Hale in the show, ‘Teen Wolf.’
