Jimmy Smits Bio

Jimmy Smits is an American actor born in Brooklyn, New York on July 9, 1955. He is best known for his roles on the television series L.A. Law, NYPD Blue, The West Wing, and Sons of Anarchy. In 1984 he made his debut in television in the series Miami Vice and has gone on to make a successful career in television, appearing in series like The West Wing, Cane, Dexter, Outlaw, Sons of Anarchy, The Get Down, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, 24: Legacy, How to Get Away with Murder, among others. He made is debut in film in 1986 in the film Running Scared and has since been in movies like Fires Within, Switch, Prince of Glory, Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and many more. Throughout his career in film and television Smits has been nominated for numerous awards and has won a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, a Saturn Award, an ALMA Award, and a Satellite Award.
