Ishant Sharma is a famous cricket player from India. He was born on December 2nd, 1988 in the city of Delhi, India. Ishant Sharma was hailed as the next great thing in Indian cricket, and he soared into the limelight after delivering a fantasy spell to Ricky Ponting in the Perth Test during India's visit of Australia in 2008. This performance catapulted Sharma into the spotlight. Ishant possesses a beautiful high-arm movement and is able to bowl consistently near to the 140 kph mark. This caused a lot of difficulty for the Australians during that tour in 2008 because of his ability. Ishant also holds the record for having bowled the fastest ball ever recorded by an Indian. On February 17, 2008, while playing against Australia at Adelaide Oval, Ishant recorded a speed of 152.6 kilometres per hour (94.8 miles per hour). In the process, he also became the first Indian to bowl faster than 150 kilometres per hour, surpassing the 149.7 kilometres per hour delivery of his colleague Ashish Nehra.
