Lucy Dacus was born in 1995 in Virginia and is an American indie rock singer and songwriter. Signing with Matador Records the artist is known for her distinct look and style of music as well as a strong social media presence. Her career began in 2015 when she dropped out of a film degree at Virginia Commonwealth University to pursue music as a career.
Her first single I don’t wanna be funny anymore was followed by the album No Burden, which gained her the foothold in the industry necessary to sign with the label. Her second album Historian was a commercial success and the artist has performed at Lollapalooza in Chicago and made appearances on CBS This Morning and has recently played the London Calling festival.
