Half Moon Run Bio

Half Moon Run is a Canadian indie rock band from Montreal, Quebec. They’re recognized for their group vocal harmonies, heavy use of layered percussion, and playing multiple instruments during live performances. Their albums blend the icy alt-pop atmosphere of bands like Alt-J and Radiohead, and the harmony-laden modern folk of Fleet Foxes.

The band was formed in 2009 in Montreal, consisting of vocalists and multi-instrumentalists Conner Molander, Devon Portielje, Isaac Symonds, and Dylan Phillips. In 2012, they released their debut album titled Dark Eyes. It peaked at number 8 on the Canadian pop chart. Throughout 2012 and 2013, they played at Osheaga, South by Southwest, Glastonbury, Canadian Music Week. They also opened for artists like Patrick Watson, Mumford & Sons, Of Monsters and Men, and City and Color. In 2013, their song Full circle was featured on the new Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag trailer. In 2015, they released their second album, Sun Leads Me On. In 2019, they returned with their 3rd full-length album A Blemish in the Great Night. In 2020, they released the songs Grow Into My Love, and All at Once, and in 2021, a song titled How Come My Body.
