Kumail Nanjiani was born February 21st, 1978 in Karachi, Pakistan and is a Pakistani-American actor, writer, podcast host and stand-up comedian. Best known for being cast in HBO’s critically successful television show Silicon Valley, and voicing the character Prismo on the Emmy Award winning series Adventure Time.
With starring roles in the series Franklin & Bash, and the series Newsreaders, he has also co-hosted the show, The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail, where he worked alongside fellow comedian Jonah Ray. A career highlight for Nanjiani was his writing and starring in the romantic comedy film The Big Sick, a critical success for which he was nominated for an Academy Award for original Screenplay as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award.
