Jake Dylan Wood is an award-winning English actor best known for his work in film and television. He was born in Westminster, London, England, on July 12, 1972. Jake began his acting career in 1984 when he appeared in the TV series Thinkabout and The Gentle Touch. He has since become a household name for portraying the character Max Branning in the long-running British soap opera EastEnders which also features Adam Woodyatt, Steve McFadden, Lacey Turner, and Jessie Wallace. He has also acted in the TV series Grease Monkeys, The Wilsons, In Deep, Red Dwarf, The Bill, and Archer's Goon, and his filmography includes The Illusionist, Uncle Adolf, Doc Martin and the Legend of the Cloutie, Tube Tales, and The Aryan Couple. Jake won a British Soap Award for Best On-Screen Partnership with Jo Joyner.
