Eddie Huang Bio
Eddie Huang is an American author, chef, producer, and attorney born in Washington D.C. on March 1, 1982. He is best known for writing the autobiography Fresh Off the Boat: A Memoir, which was made into a television series of the same name. In 2006 he started working as a summer associate at the law firm Chadbourne & Parke in New York City. He was hired as an associate in the firm’s corporate department in 2008. After getting laid off due to the financial crisis of 2007-2007 he started working as a stand-up comedian. He also ran a streetwear clothing company called Hoodman Clothing from 2006 to 2009. In 2009 he opened a Taiwanese bun shop named BaoHaus in Lower Manhattan. In 2011 he hosted the show Cheap Bites on the Cooking Channel and made appearances on the show Unique Eats. He now hosts a show Huang’s World for Viceland. He published his first book in 2013 titled Fresh Off the Boat: A Memoir. The memoir was made into a television show on ABC in 2015 with the same name. Huang has also released the book Double Cup Love: On the Trail of Family, Food, and Broken Hearts in China in 2016.
