Matthew Tkachuk Bio

American professional ice hockey player, Matthew Tkachuk is the alternate captain and winger for the Florida Panthers. Born on 11th December 1997, he started his career with the St.Louis Blues minor ice hockey team. His international career includes gold medals in the World Hockey U-17 Challenge and the IIHF World U-18 Championship. In 2015, he signed up with the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey league. He scored the winning goal for the team at the 2016 Memorial Cup Final. He became a bona fide star for an NHL club because of his skills and attributes and was selected to play for the Calgary Flames. He bagged the Calder Memorial Trophy for the top rookie in the NHL in the 2017-18 season. In the following season, he became the alternate captain for the team and also ended the season with a career-high of 49 points. In 2022, he was traded to the Florida Panthers with whom he signed an eight-year contract.
