John Michael Gaudreau is an American professional ice hockey player who was born on 13th August 1993 in Salem, New Jersey. He is a winger for the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League. He played in the 2006 Quebec International Pee Wee Hockey Tournament in his early years. In the 2010-11 season, he played in the United States Hockey League with the Dubuque Fighting Saints. He was selected to the USHL All-Rookie Team and became the USHL Rookie of the Year for his outstanding play. In the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, he was selected by the Calgary Flames. His career started in the NCAA and opted to play for Boston College. In 2014, he was given the Hobey Baker award for the best NCAA player. In the 2014-15 season, he was selected for an NHL All-Star Game and won the Calder Memorial Trophy for best rookie. The following season, he was awarded the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy for being the most gentlemanly player. In 2022, he moved to the Columbus Blue Jackets.
