Nicolas Winding Refn is a Danish film producer, director, and screenwriter. Born on September 29, 1970, in Copenhagen, Denmark, Nicolas Winding Refn has made his debut as a film producer with the film Pusher. In 1999, he directed the popular thriller film Bleeder and won the FIPRESCI Prize for the film at the Sarajevo Film Festival in 2000. He also made two sequels to his film Pusher named Pusher II and Pusher III. Nicolas Winding Refn also directed and produced the film Valhalla Rising which was awarded an International Fantasy Film Special Jury Award, Best Make-Up Award, and the Titra Film Award. For his film Drive which premiered at a competition at the Cannes Film Festival in 2011, Nicolas Winding Refn was awarded the Best Director Award.
