Croatian professional tennis player, Donna Vekić was born on 28th June 1996 in Osijek, Croatia. She was a member of the Croatia Fed Cup Team. She came to prominence in 2012 when she played three rubbers and led her country to a 2-0 win. In 2013, she entered the main draw of the Australian Open. After her $50k tournament win the same year, she made it to the WTA top 100 list in the 86th position. She won her first WTA tournament title in 2014 at the Malaysian Open after defeating Dominika Cibulkova. 2017 was her breakthrough year when she won her second WTA title and broke into the Top 50 WTA rankings. She advanced up the rankings and made it to the top 20 towards the end of 2019. This was the year she reached a career-high ranking of world no.19. She has won three singles WTA titles in her career, including the 2017 Nottingham Open and the 2021 Courmayeur Ladies Open. She also has two singles and one doubles ITF Circuit titles.
