Jonathan Goldsmith is an American actor born in New York City, New York on September 26, 1938. He is best known for playing the character The Most Interesting Man in the World in the television commercials for Dos Equis beer from 2007 to 2016. Goldsmith has made over 350 television appearances over his career. He started his acting career acting on stage in New York. In 1966 he moved from New York to California to further his acting career. He initially became well known acting in Western films and has since had roles in the films One is a Lonely Number, Blood Voyage, Ice Station Zebra, Go Tell the Spartans, Phantom of the Mall: Eric’s Revenge, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, and others. He has also made appearances in a number of television shows, including The Rockford Files, Knots Landing, The A-Team, Petrocelli, Hawaii Five-O, Magnum, Murder, She Wrote, Gun Smoke, Knight Rider, CHiPs, Eight Is Enough, The Rockford Files, MacGyver and more. In April 2007 he appeared in his first ad for the beer company Dos Equis beer and continued appearing in ads for the company until 2016. In 2017 he started appearing in television ads for the tequila company Astral Tequila. Throughout his career he has been nominated for a number of awards and has won a BAFTA Award, four Gemini Awards, a Canadian Screen Award and others.
