Angelique Kerber Bio
German professional tennis player, Angelique Kerber started playing tennis when she was 3. She joined the junior circuit eventually and made her professional debut in 2003. From 2004 to 2007, she won eight ITF circuit titles. Her first attempt at the WTA tournament was in January 2005 but lost to Janette Husarova in the final round. In 2007, she recorded her main draw debut at the French Open. It was in Birmingham that she recorded her first WTA tournament and was the runner-up at Wimbledon that year. Her first WTA title came in 2012 in Paris. She began to surge in the world rankings and reached the world no.5 spot in 2012. In September 2016, she reached the No.1 spot and became the oldest player to achieve the feat. She retained the spot for 34 weeks. In her career, she has won three major titles at the 2016 US Open, 2016 Australian Open, and 2018 Wimbledon Championships.
