Shane Jenek, better known as Courtney Act, is an Australian singer and drag queen, born on February 18, 1982, in Brisbane, Australia. She rose to fame in 2003, after making the semifinals of Australian Idol. She was also a finalist on the reality show RuPaul’s Drag Race, and in 2018 became the winner of Celebrity Big Brother UK.
At the age of 18, she moved to Sydney and had auditioned for theatre schools, but instead, she made a year-long contract with Nickelodeon as a movie night host. She has been the 3rd singer of the American Idol competition to release a solo single. The name of her solo single is Rub Me Wrong. In 2013, Logo TV announced that she was amongst 14 drag queens who would compete in RuPaul’s Drag Race, and ended as a runner-up with fellow contestant Adore Delano. Together with fellow contestant Bianca Del Rio she went on to place in the Top 3. In 2019, she was a runner-up on the Australian edition of Dancing with the Stars, season 16. Courtney has appeared in Lady Gaga’s 2013 music video for the song Applause.
