Annaleigh Ashford is an American actress and singer who was born Annaleigh Amanda Swanson on June 25th, 1985 in Denver, Colorado, United States. She graduated from Wheat Ridge High School and moved on to get a theater degree from Marymount Manhattan College at nineteen.
Annaleigh is an accomplished actor who won the Tony Award, Outer Critics Circle Award and Drama Desk Award for starring as Essie in You Can’t Take It With You on Broadway. She also appeared on Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park With George as Dot. She also played Betty on Showtime’s Masters of Sex.
Anna was first nominated for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play in 2013 for the show Kinky Boots. In 2015 she won the same award with her act on You Can’t Take It With You. She also starred as Glinda in Wicked, Jeannie in Hair and as Margot in Legally Blonde the Musical. Annaleigh released her debut album Lost in the Stars: Live at 54 Below in 2015.
