Russian Circles Bio

Russian Circles is an alternative band which was formed in Chicago, Illinois in 2004. The group is made up of Brian Cook, Mike Sullivan, and Dave Turncrantz. The group released an EP in 2005 which was quickly sold out. Their debut album, Flameshovel, was dropped the year after.

They released Station under Suicide Squeeze in 2008 and another album, Geneva, was released in 2009. Empros, another album, was released in 2011 in vinyl version under Sargent House Records. This was followed by another album, Memorial in 2013.

The group’s most popular songs include “Deficit” and “Memorial” featuring Chelsea Wolfe from their 2013 album Memorial and “Vorel”, “Afrika”, “Mota”, and “Asa” from their 2016 album Guidance. Russian Circles also released Live at Dunk! Festival 2016 as an LP.
